About Cambridge Bid
Creating a world-class experience for all who visit, live and work in Cambridge, a global city
Cambridge is a global city at an important time in its development - seeking to balance the fast-growing business sector, its place as a prime visitor destination and its role as a great seat of education and learning. Its challenges include moving people in and around the city, managing air quality and ensuring it remains a great place to live and work for all. Cambridge BID plays a key role in responding to these challenges.
What is the project?
Cambridge BID facilitates two mystery shop visits to participating businesses giving them a unique opportunity to understand how they are viewed by their current and prospective customers. The project provides businesses with a comprehensive breakdown of the mystery-shop via de-brief sessions as well as opportunities for staff to take part in training that common areas for improvements.
There are different categories such as cafes, restaurants, hotels, leisure and retail to name a few and each category has a winner and runner up who receive prizes at the BID Awards evening, which will be in January 2022.
We have recently had feedback from our first secret shopper and are absolutely thrilled to say we got 100% in all areas that include, products, image, service, sales, local knowledge and overall impression.
Here are some of the feedback highlights.
We're beginning to make that seasonal transition from summer to autumn. Along with a seasonal change comes a change in colour. Nature, clothing, food, and drink all adapt aesthetically according to the season. Think of an ombre effect; yellows through to orange, down to reds, burgundy, and brown. Whilst the weather becomes colder, Autumn into Winter is jam-packed with holidays, traditions, and festivities that we can all look forward to celebrating in style. There is no better way of welcoming in the colder air than with a good drink. Whether alcoholic or not, we turn to a much warmer tipple, which we can cosy up with by a fire as the nights draw in earlier, or to party into the night with Halloween, bonfire, and Christmas festivities.
There’s nothing wrong with some friendly competition, in fact it’s a healthy thing in life and in business. It motivates us to do our very best and can be a source of fun and pleasure! Every year around Easter, the famous annual Boat Race between Oxford and Cambridge universities takes place.
31, Trinity Street, Cambridge, is the location of our new shop that opened at the beginning of November 2108. The word "trinity" is derived from Latin trinitas, meaning 'the state of being 3' or a group of three people or things. As this is our 3rd shop, it seems only right to do some research of this fascinating city, its universities and history.
